If you play an instrument, South Carroll High School needs you to help boost our school spirit. The South Carroll Cavalier Pep Band is seeking members to play at home varsity football games and possibly for basketball games later in the year.
The time commitment is minimal, the music is easy, and the rewards are many. You’ll have a lot of fun, make new friends, support the students on the sports teams, and maybe even learn a thing or two!
The Cavalier Pep Band will perform at the following home varsity football games (free admission) and any in-school pep rallies:
September 16, 2011 (Middletown)
October 6, 2011 (Century)
October 28, 2011 (Francis Scott Key – Homecoming)
November 4, 2011 (Westminster)
For all games, students should arrive in the SCH Band Room by 5PM. Games are usually over around 9:15PM.
Wind and percussion students have been given information regarding the Cavalier Pep Band and should return their forms to Mr. Stevenson no later than September 14th. It is very important that students return these forms on time so that we can prepare for our first performance on September 16th.
Requests to miss a game may be granted, provided you communicate with me in a timely manner via the procedure outlined in the Attendance Policy.
In order to participate, you’ll need to purchase a SCH Cavalier Pep Band Hoodie for $25.00 (if you don’t already have one from previous years.) Orders are due by Tuesday, September 14th. Checks should be made out to “SCH Band Boosters”. The Pep band will wear the hoodie and dark blue jeans for all performances. Finally, you’ll need a marching lyre to hold your music. You can purchase one cheaply at any local music store if you need one; just take your instrument with you to make sure that the lyre fits correctly before you buy it
